City of Goldsboro issued the following announcement on Aug. 23.

Join Goldsboro Parks and Recreation from 9-11 a.m., Saturday, September 24, for the annual Big Cat Kids Catfishing Tournament!.

This tournament is *completely free* for kids ages 5 – 15, but participants should pre-register so that there are ample prizes on hand! 

Bring your own rods & bait! Parks and Rec will have some rods on hand for those who may not have one to use. 

(Please indicate on registration if you will need to borrow equipment!).

Parking & Check-In will take place at W.A. Foster Center (1012 S. John Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530), and transportation will be provided for participants (and any parents/guardians who wish to come) via the P&R bus to the private pond down the road where the tournament will take place!.
