City of Goldsboro issued the following announcement on Nov. 29.

Kick off the holiday season in Downtown Goldsboro!

Join us on Tuesday, November 22nd for a night of family fun as we flip the switch and light up Downtown Goldsboro for the holiday season! This FREE event, sponsored by Scrubbles and Jackson & Sons, features visits with Santa Claus, holiday characters, hot cocoa, kids’ crafts, trolley rides, holiday entertainment and more!!

We will meet in front of City Hall at 5 p.m. where we will invite guests to begin the countdown to turn on the lights downtown – the flipping of the switch is at 5:30pm.

Free horse-drawn trolley rides will start at The HUB, and will run from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Also, get tickets to see the The North Carolina Symphony’s Annual Holiday Pops Concert at the Paramount Theatre after the event, or plan to shop and dine at downtown’s great shops and restaurants.

Center Street, Downtown Goldsboro 5pm – 8pm5:30pm – Flipping of the switch at City Hall
