City of Kinston issued the following announcement on Sep 24. 

 Please join the African American Heritage Commission this Saturday, September 25th at 4pm on the 400 block of South Queen Street for the marker unveiling and the tribute to the Kinston listings in the Negro Motorist Green Book, a book that helped African-American motorists safely travel during the Jim Crow era.

Following the ceremony, a concert featuring Dick Knight and Bill Myers will take place from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm in the African American Music Trail Park on South Queen Street.
