City of Kinston issued the following announcement on Oct. 2. 

The City of Kinston and Downtown Kinston Revitalization are pleased to announce that we are one of the communities awarded a Hometown Revitalization Grant from the Duke Energy Foundation! The program will allow DK to distribute $25,000 in micro-grants of $500-$2,500 to help small businesses with fewer than 50 employees adapt to the unprecedented challenges caused by the pandemic.
