COUNTY OF DUPLIN: Groundbreaking on The New Animal Care, Control, and Adoption Facility

County of Duplin issued the following announcement on Sept. 19.

It’s another exciting day in Duplin County as we broke ground on the new Animal Care, Control, and Adoption Facility. 

The new Duplin County Animal Care, Control, and Adoption Facility will include:

•Healthy ventilation and waste disposal systems 

•Animal receiving, examination, and grooming areas 

•Indoor-outdoor kennel runs 

•Public education and training facilities 

•Waterproof surfaces for hygiene management 

•Display kennels for adoptable animals 

•Noise control design 

•Inviting atmosphere and get-acquainted space for adopters

A special thank you to everyone that assisted in making this possible:

•Duplin County Board of County Commissioners

•Tri-County Electric

•Animal Service Board Members 

•Numerous volunteers that assist daily at the animal shelter

•The 150 rescues and volunteer groups help transport, foster, and rescue animals that come through the shelter 

•Over 5,400 citizens and donors support Paws for the Cause of Duplin
