County of Duplin issued the following announcement on Feb 14.

The Duplin County Sheriff’s Office is a progressive and community-oriented team of law enforcement professionals seeking to fill immediate openings. If you are a qualified individual looking for long-term employment in a rewarding field, please apply today.

In order to apply for employment with our agency for a detention officer’s position, you must meet the minimum requirements listed below: 

Must be at least 21 years of age 

Must be a United States citizen 

Must have a valid NC Driver’s license and satisfactory driving record 

Must pass a background investigation. 

Must pass a post-offer drug screening and a psychological test prior to employment 

At a minimum, applicants must have a high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate 

Applicants who have prior military service must have received an honorable discharge from active military service. 

To apply, obtain from and submit an application to the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office Administrative Building located at 112 West Hill Street, Kenansville, Monday – Friday from 8:00 a. m. till 5:00 p.m.
