LENOIR COUNTY: Best Diamond Packaging, LLC to extend lease for another 15 years and invest $10,000,000 in Lenoir County

Lenoir County recently issued the following announcement.

Lenoir County and Lenoir County Economic Development announced today that Best Diamond Packaging, LLC will be extending its operations in Lenoir County for at least another 15 years. This lease includes two options to extend for an additional five years. The lease also includes a right to expand up to 55,000 square feet in order to accommodate additional production capacity. The Company will invest over $10,000,000 and create 6 new jobs in Kinston over the next two years. The average salary will be $37,000 for these employees.

Best Diamond Packaging is a restaurant napkin and tissue product production plant located at 2700 Airport Road, Kinston, NC. Since it began operations in 2009 at the current plant, Best Diamond has proved to be a leader in the foodservice industry. The Company’s goal is to manufacture high-quality paper products at a reasonable cost that are delivered on time to each of its customers. Best Diamond is organized to bring diversity and excellence to the foodservice industry. Additionally, the team strives to offer customers a high level of service, inventive thinking, and quality products. This method fuels inspired thinking, steps up speed to market, sets apart brands, and streamlines purchasing.

Best Diamond is a minority-owned business and a leading producer of paper napkins for the quick service restaurant industry. Best Diamond’s annual revenues are in excess of $30 million annually. “Lenoir County has been a great place for Best Diamond to do business. The financial commitment that Lenoir County Economic Development and Lenoir County is making to Best Diamond is representative of why we are excited to continue to grow our business and support the community,” stated Kevin Thorne, President of Best Diamond Packaging.

“It is gratifying to hear that Best Diamond Packaging is deciding to extend its lease and reinvest in Lenoir County,” said Senator Jim Perry. “When a company decides to invest in our community it creates tremendous opportunity for our citizens. The project was made possible in part by a performance-based grant from Lenoir County up to $200,000. Companies receive no money up front and must meet investment performance standards to qualify for reimbursement. Local governments utilize these grants to attract business projects that will stimulate economic activity. Lenoir County is pleased that Best Diamond Packaging has decided to invest in our community.
