A North Carolina representative applauded the North Carolina National Guard for providing force packages to aid in the statewide response to COVID-19.
"Thank you to the men and women of the North Carolina National Guard who are sacrificing their health to keep us safe," House Majority Leader Rep. John Bell (R-Greene County) said in a Facebook post.
More than 240 National Guard and North Carolina Air National Guard members have been helping with supply distribution, warehouse management and cyber issues at various regional locations to assist state operations, according to an April 7 report in DVIDSHub.net.
“We are working all together with any state agency you can think of to bring all the resources the Guard can bring,” Maj. Aaron Youngblood, National Guard director of military support, told DVIDS.
The National Guard is distributing critical supplies from the Strategic National Stockpile, working national and state missions from home, keeping important personnel on the mission and securing critical information among other things, according to DVIDS.
First Lt. Joseph Muraguri, 196th Signal Company commander, told DVIDS that the National Guard is ensuring health care workers can do their job.
“We have to make sure the [COVID19] caregivers and others have the systems to do the job,” Muraguri told DVIDS.
