Duplin County recently issued the following announcement.
With the increase in testing comes the possibility of additional identified positive cases (symptomatic and asymptotic). Duplin County’s total number of laboratory confirmed positive COVID-19 cases has increased to 354 residents. Of those confirmed positive cases, 161 of them have met clinical criteria to be released from isolation.
Duplin County has had five additional deaths, bringing the county’s total to 11 fatalities related to COVID-19. Of the five most recent fatalities, each decedent was in the age range of older than 65. To protect the families’ privacy, no further information about the individuals will be released.
Duplin County will hold its first COVID-19 Diagnostic Drive-Thru testing event on May 20, 2020, from 10am-2pm at the Duplin Events Center. The drive-thru testing event is open to all Duplin County residents, but pre-registration is required. To schedule an appointment, residents should call 910-267-2044.
