Duplin County issued the following announcement on June 5.
Duplin County’s total cumulative number of laboratory confirmed positive COVID-19 cases has increased to 938 residents. Of those confirmed positive cases, 473 are currently in isolation and 465 have met clinical criteria to be released from isolation.
Duplin County has had four additional deaths, bringing the county’s total to 24 fatalities related to COVID-19. Of the four most recent fatalities, one of the decedents was in the age range of 25-49, two decedents were in the age range of 50-64, and another decedent was older than 65. To protect the families’ privacy, no further information about the individuals will be released.
The county’s COVID-19 related media releases will now be released weekly on Fridays.
