Duplin County issued the following announcement on June 12.
Duplin County’s total cumulative number of laboratory confirmed positive COVID-19 cases has increased to 1,168 residents. Of those confirmed positive cases, 439 are currently in isolation and 704 have met clinical criteria to be released from isolation.
Duplin County has had one additional death over the last week, bringing the county’s total to 25 fatalities related to COVID-19. The decedent was in the age range of 25-49. To protect the family’s privacy, no further information about the individual will be released.
If you leave your house, remember the 3Ws – wear a cloth face covering, wait 6 feet apart to avoid close contact, and wash your hands often or use hand sanitizer.
Duplin County will hold another COVID-19 Diagnostic Drive-Thru testing event on Monday, June 15, 2020, from 10am to 2pm at the Duplin Events Center. The drive-thru testing is open to all Duplin County residents, but preregistration is required for this anterior nares specimen collection event. To schedule an appointment, Duplin County residents should call 910-267-2044.
