DUPLIN COUNTY: Total number of Confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of June 19

Duplin County issued the following announcement on June 19. 

Duplin County’s total cumulative number of laboratory confirmed positive COVID-19 cases has increased to 1,331 residents. Of those confirmed positive cases, 347 are currently in isolation and 956 have met clinical criteria to be released from isolation.

Duplin County has had three additional deaths over the last week, bringing the county’s total to 28 fatalities related to COVID-19. Of the three most recent fatalities, one decedent was in the age range of 50-64 and the other two decedents were older than 65. To protect the families’ privacy, no further information about the individuals will be released.

If you leave your house, remember the 3Ws – wear a cloth face covering, wait 6 feet a part to avoid close contact, and wash your hands often or use hand sanitizer.

Duplin County will hold another COVID-19 Diagnostic Drive-Thru testing event on Monday, June 22, 2020, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Duplin Events Center. The drive-thru testing is open to all Duplin County residents, but preregistration is required for this anterior nares specimen collection event. To schedule an appointment, Duplin County residents should call 910-267-2044.

There will be a convalescent plasma and blood donation event on Thursday, June 25, 2020, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Duplin Events Center. All donors will receive a $10 VISA gift card and those donating blood will receive a free COVID-19 antibody test.
