53 percent of applicants to the University of Mount Olive were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of Mount Olive, 59 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 64 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Mount Olive enrolled 3,208 students in fall 2018, including 2,991 in undergraduate and 217 in graduate programs, data shows. 14.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

78 percent of undergraduates are residents of North Carolina, and 13 percent are residents of other states. 9 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (52 percent) and Black or African American (28 percent).

The school admitted 53 percent of the 2,215 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 29 percent enrolled.
