Cost of college went down for all students at Sampson Community College

In-state tuition and fees fell 1.1 percent for 2018-19 at Sampson Community College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

North Carolina residents paid $2,783 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $236 more than the $2,547 charged for 2017-18.

Non-resident students would have paid 248.4 percent more than residents this year, or $9,695. Non-resident tuition and fees grew 11.6 percent from $8,691 in 2017-18.

100 percent of the school's undergraduate population are North Carolina residents.

Data shows 98 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 88 students received grants or scholarships totaling $494,378.

Including all undergraduates (1,293), 894 students used grants or scholarships totaling $4.3 million.
