After the last quarterly breakfast for this series, legislators visited Lenoir County Public Schools to welcome back faculty and staff with a treat.

"Today was the last day of our 'Quarterly Breakfast Series' for this quarter," Lenoir County Commissioner J. Mac Daughety said in a Facebook post on Aug. 24. "It was such a wonderful event listening to our citizens and their issues, thoughts and recommended solutions. Thank you all."

Rep. Chris Humphrey (R-Lenoir) said they visited the schools to give gratitude and cinnamon twists to the faculty and staff.

"We were able to visit all of Lenoir County public schools this year, to express our gratitude for the dedication of teachers, administrators, custodians, bus drivers, etc.," Humphrey said in the Facebook post. "Praying for a sense normalcy very soon!"

Those that visited the schools were: Sen. Jim Perry, Humphrey, Commissioner at Large Candidate Steve Saint-Amand and Daughety. They visited Lenoir County Early College, Southeast Elementary, Northeast Elementary, Rochelle Middle School and Kinston High School.
