DUPLIN COUNTY: Legal Notice of General Election Tuesday, November 3, 2020

Duplin County recently issued the following announcement.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the qualified voters of the County of Duplin, in accordance with N.C.G.S. 163-33, that the registration books will close on Friday, October 9,2020 @ 5:00 PM, for the General Elections to be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. The polls will be open on the day of the election from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Buffer zones as designated by G.S. 163-166.4 shall be 50 feet from the entrance to the voting place.  For a list of polling locations visit www.duplincountync.com/board-of-elections/

The following offices will be submitted to the voters:

US President, US Senate, US House of Representatives District 03, NC Governor, NC Lieutenant Governor, NC Attorney General, NC Auditor, NC Commissioner of Agriculture, NC Commissioner of Insurance, NC Commissioner of Labor, NC Secretary of State, NC Superintendent of Public Instruction, NC Treasurer, NC Supreme Court Chief Justice Seat 01, NC Supreme Court Associate Justice Seat 02, NC Supreme Court Associate Justice Seat 04, NC Court of Appeals Judge Seat 04, NC Court of Appeals Judge Seat 05, NC Court of Appeals Judge Seat 06, NC Court of Appeals Judge Seat 07, NC Court of Appeals Judge Seat 13, NC State Senate District 10, NC House of Representatives District 04, NC District Court Judge District 4 seat 03, NC District Court Judge District 4 seat 04, NC District Court Judge District 4 seat 05, NC District Court Judge District 4 seat 06, NC District Court Judge District 4 seat 07, NC District Court Judge District 4 seat 08, NC District Court Judge District 4 seat 09, Duplin County Board of Commissioners Districts 01, Duplin County Board of Commissioners Districts 04, Duplin County Board of Commissioners Districts 5, Duplin County Register of Deeds, Duplin Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor

Special Election on the Fire District Tax Referendum for the following Fire District in Duplin County: 

Liberty Fire District 

Request for an absentee ballot must be made on a form created by the State Board of Elections and signed by the voter, near relative or verifiable legal guardian by 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2020. The Board of Elections will meet each Tuesday, September 29th, October 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th, & November 2nd at 5:00pm to approve absentee applications; and on November 13 at 10:00 am to consider supplemental absentee and provisional applications.

One-Stop early voting will be held at three locations: Site 1) Ed Emory Auditorium located at 165 Agricultural Drive, Kenansville, NC 28349. Site 2) American Legion Post#156 located at 529 East Southerland Street, Wallace, NC 28466. Site 3) Warsaw Recreation Center (Thompson Gym) 309 Memorial Drive Warsaw, NC 28398 beginning on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at 8:00am and ending on Saturday, October 31, 2020, at 3:00pm.  One-Stop early voting hours for the one-stop period will be:

Weekdays 

October 15th-16th, October 19th-23rd, and October 26th-30th from 8:00am to 7:30pm

Saturdays

October 17th from 8:00am to 7:30pm

 October 24th & 31st from 8:00am to 3:00pm

Sunday

October 25th from 1:00pm to 6:00pm

 

Canvass will be held November 13, 2020, at 11:00 am at the Duplin County Board of Elections Office.
