County of Wayne issued the following announcement on Oct. 9.
The Maxwell Center has received a ConventionSouth Readers’ Choice Award as a top meeting site in the South for the fourth year in a row. Over 40,000 meeting destinations, meeting facilities, and hotels were nominated from all over the Southern United States, and only 415 nationally received the honor.
“ConventionSouth readers and fans have voted to decide the best meeting sites in the South, and it is no surprise to us that The Maxwell Center has been selected to receive our annual Readers’ Choice Award,” said ConventionSouth Associate Publisher Ashleigh Osborne. “The value in receiving this prestigious recognition is that it comes from the United States’ top meeting professionals who hold events in the South. These planners demand the highest level of customer service and quality facilities, and they have contributed in determining that The Maxwell Center indeed displays the commitment to professionalism, creativity, and service that they require.”
“With COVID-19 still presenting ongoing challenges in the meeting, conference, and convention business, we are extremely proud to be helping our clients host their activities to the best of our ability,” said Maxwell Center General Manager James Wade Jr. “We are working with everyone to keep our clients and their guests safe, socially distanced, and satisfied with their events. It is an honor to win a ConventionSouth Readers’ Choice Award for the fourth consecutive year.”
Celebrating almost 40 years as a leading meeting planning resource, ConventionSouth magazine is based in Gulf Shores, Ala., and is distributed to more than 18,000 meeting professionals across the country who book meetings held within the South, according to Osborne. here.
