Wayne County Public Schools issued the following announcement on Dec. 1.

Wayne County Public Schools (WCPS) students will soon spread holiday cheer through festive songs and melodies at the annual district-wide Choral Showcase, with performances spanning over three nights (November 30, December 1, and December 2) at the Goldsboro High auditorium.

This is the twentieth year for the annual holiday showcase. The showcase first began in 2001 with 12 schools participating. After taking a year off due to the pandemic, the district will bring back the showcase with 25 schools.

“The Choral Showcase has been a highlight of the holiday season for our Wayne County Public Schools choral programs for many years and I am thrilled to be a part of it for the first time,” states Christine White, Title IV Enrichment Facilitator. “Our students and teachers are delighted to be able to present the music they have been preparing for the past few months. For many of them, this will be their first return to the stage since the pandemic, and they are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to make music for an audience again.”

The schedule for the participating schools is as follows:

Tuesday, November 30: Charles B. Aycock High, Fremont STARS Elementary, Northeast Elementary, Northwest Elementary, Norwayne Middle, Rosewood Elementary, Rosewood High, Rosewood Middle

Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the programs will begin at 6:30 p.m. each night. Guests need to use the side entrance along Beech Street closest to the Goldsboro High main office. Admission is $6.00 for each person, and all proceeds will benefit the choral programs at the participating schools. Children under five years old are admitted free of charge.
