City of Kinston issued the following announcement on Jan. 26.
Due to the winter storm expected for our area this evening, all City facilities will close on Friday. According to the latest report from the National Weather Service, Kinston is expected to receive ice, sleet and snow from this storm. Travel will become hazardous as the temperatures remain at or below freezing through Saturday.
Please exercise extreme caution and limit travel as much as possible during this time.
Other closures in our area include Lenoir County Offices, Lenoir County Courthouse, Lenoir County Schools , LCC and ECU classes are canceled for Friday. Please call 252-939-3282 with any questions, or to report any outages you may experience this weekend.
