CITY OF CLINTON: Curbside Recycle Discontinued

City of Clinton issued the following announcement on July 11.

Currently, the monthly contamination rate of curbside recycling with non-recyclable materials averages over 50%.

In an effort to produce a viable and efficient recycling program, the City of Clinton Public Works Department will transition from curbside recycling to drop off centers strategically placed across the City. This change will be effective July 1, 2022.

Beginning in July of 2022, crews will collect the blue cans after they have been emptied. The City will have three drop-off locations for citizens to bring their recyclables:

Public Works (200 W John St, across street from Public Works)

Beaman St Fire Station (1000 Beaman St, at back of building)

Royal Ln Park (618 Royal Ln)

For electronic recycling please contact Public Works at (910) 299-4905, Monday- Friday (7a.m-3:30 p.m.)

Thank you for your cooperation as we work to build a stronger and more effective recycling program for the citizens of Clinton.
