U.S. Rep. Greg Murphy (R-N.C.) and many participants in the state of North Carolina showed their appreciation and gratitude towards the state's veterans this year in many Veterans Day celebrations across the state. Parades, new projects, and housing opportunities are all being offered to honor the sacrifice made by men and women who have served the United States.

Murphy revealed his plans to organize a second Veterans History Project event in Currituck County. "It is a privilege to contribute to the preservation of their stories for posterity in the Library of Congress," said Murphy according to Neuse News. The initiative is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and providing access to firsthand recollections of U.S. military veterans which brings light on the remarkable stories of sacrifice, bravery, and heroism exhibited by veterans across the nation.

In honor of Veterans Day, many individuals are participating in events throughout eastern North Carolina, such as visiting Duplin Veterans Museum. State Representative Jimmy Dixon praised it as "one of the most magnificent places in eastern North Carolina", WCTI reports. This museum serves as a repository of memories from veterans who served in the region.

The DMVA operates four fully-equipped state veterans' homes, with 449 skilled care beds and employs over 750 North Carolinians according to Milvets NC. Its main goal is delivering top-tier care to veterans, enhancing their overall quality of life by creating an environment that provides comfort and security, along with independence, individual needs catering and personal choice emphasis. The facilities provide inviting accommodations, administered by a team consisting of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing assistants - all under licensed physicians' supervision.
