TOWN OF DAVIDSON: Community Invited to Veterans Monument Meeting

0Comments

Town of Davidson issued the following announcement on Dec. 5.

The Davidson community is invited to attend the next meeting about the proposed Veterans Monument on Monday, December 12, at 5:00 p.m. at Davidson Town Hall.

The Town of Davidson is working on the development and construction of a Veterans Monument and is seeking the support of Davidson residents, including those who have served.

The effort will include determining the site for the monument, the development of the concept, fundraising, and construction.

The Davidson Public Arts Commission set aside $25,000 to start the process, but it is estimated that a monument and perhaps related artwork will cost much more.

Fundraising for the monument will begin in the coming months. We hope that individuals, local businesses and nonprofits, as well as corporations will consider making donations to this worthy effort to honor Veterans who consider Davidson their home.
