Village of Walnut Creek issued the following announcement on Dec. 28.
There is a rash of car thefts and break-ins surrounding the Village. It is just a matter of time until it happens here. The suspects committing these crimes are juveniles, and several have been caught and charged, but due to their age they were released. Please lock your car, remove all valuables and keys. The crimes normally happen in the early morning hours 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. Please be vigilante in protecting your property and call 911 if you see anything suspicious.
